ZoomInfo integration

Connect ZoomInfo and you can search for companies and contacts by industry, location and job title from inside ClientPad, review every result, and import the ones you choose as companies and contacts in your CRM. Searches run against your own ZoomInfo account, so your results, credits and permissions stay yours.

What you need

  • A ClientPad account where you are an owner or admin (connecting a provider is limited to those roles).
  • A ZoomInfo account with API access. Ask your ZoomInfo administrator if you are not sure yours has it.

Connect ZoomInfo

  1. In ClientPad, open Prospecting.
  2. Under Connected providers, click Connect ZoomInfo.
  3. Sign in to ZoomInfo if asked, then approve the access ZoomInfo describes.
  4. You are returned to Prospecting with ZoomInfo shown as Connected.

The connection belongs to your ClientPad organization, so everyone on your team can search with it. There is nothing to paste: no API key, client ID or secret.

Search and import

  1. On Prospecting, choose ZoomInfo under Search using.
  2. Enter an industry or what you are looking for, and optionally locations, employee-count ranges, and the job titles of the people you want. Pick how many companies to fetch.
  3. Click Search ZoomInfo. Each company found is listed with the contacts matching your job titles beneath it. Companies and contacts already in your CRM are marked as such.
  4. Tick the companies and contacts you want, optionally choose lists to add them to, and click Import. Nothing is added to your CRM until you do.
  5. Fetch more continues the same search from where it left off, so running it again does not return the same results.

What ClientPad does with ZoomInfo

  • Searches companies matching your industry, location and size filters.
  • Looks up a company's industry and size for each result, so the imported record is complete.
  • Searches contacts at those companies matching your job titles, and reveals their work email for the contacts you import.

Every call uses your own ZoomInfo account and spends your own ZoomInfo credits, exactly as a search in ZoomInfo would. ClientPad never reads anything from ZoomInfo you did not search for, and never writes to your ZoomInfo account.

Data stored

ClientPad stores the ZoomInfo access and refresh tokens it is granted, encrypted at rest, and decrypts them only in memory for the moment of an API call. Search results are stored only when you import them, as companies and contacts in your own CRM, with their source recorded as prospecting. Nothing else from ZoomInfo is stored.

Disconnect ZoomInfo

  1. Open Prospecting → Connected providers.
  2. Click Disconnect next to ZoomInfo.

Disconnecting deletes the stored tokens. Companies and contacts you already imported stay in your CRM. You can also remove ClientPad's access from your ZoomInfo account's connected applications.

Troubleshooting

  • ZoomInfo isn't offered under Search using. Connect it first under Connected providers; only connected providers are listed.
  • A search says the connection has expired. Click Reconnect ZoomInfo under Connected providers. ZoomInfo may have revoked access if the password changed or the app was removed from the account.
  • Few or no results. Use an industry term close to ZoomInfo's own industry names, and a location as a city, state or country name.
